FAU University PressMarkus Putnings, Head Librarian, FAU University Press Publishing Director
The University Library supervises FAU University Press on behalf of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and its open access policy. The aim is to provide a quick and low-cost way of publishing and distributing selected works by members of the university and FAU institutions in open access form and optionally in print form, too. Works published cover the full range of disciplines taught at FAU.
The open access publishing programme of FAU University Press is expected to grow exponentially, both with regard to its subject range and the number of available titles, making research at FAU accessible to the international academic community.
Open access ensures the optimal visibility and citability of a work, and the research results can be readily found by search engines. FAU University Press showcases the academic output of FAU and promotes open access in fields in which the publication of monographs is deemed to be of considerable relevance.
To ensure the development of FAU University Press and maintain the academic quality of the book series, the University Administration has set up an Academic Advisory Board. A distinctive editorial and qualitative policy is at the core of all of our products. All authors and editors are required to follow our editorial and publication ethics policies: http://www.university-press.fau.de/publizieren/informationen-und-downloads-fuer-autoren-en.shtml, section “policies”.
