Plans for Expansion & Future Directions:
In 2021, the GVSU Libraries were awarded an internal grant to accelerate support for Open Educational Resources (OER), including OER publishing capacity. As part of this initiative, we are piloting a student position focused on editorial and production work, minigrants to cover production costs related to library-published materials, and open textbook development programs. In addition to using the Digital Commons and PressbooksEDU platforms, we’re experimenting with PreTeXt (pretextbook.org) versions of some mathematics OER previously published in PDF or LaTeX.
