Program Overview

Mission/Objectives:
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is a division of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which "manages fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people." The Institute conducts applied research pertinent to managing fishery resources and species of special concern in Florida. Programs focus on obtaining the data and information that managers of fish, wildlife, and ecosystems need to sustain Florida's natural resources. The institute publishes FWRI Technical Reports that contain information relevant to immediate resource management needs.
