Policies
Adopted Policies:
MU Library is represented on the Library Association of Ireland's Library Publishing Group and the Irish Open Access Publishers Group, and we draw on the experience of members of both groups. Irish Open Access Publishers https://sites.google.com/view/irish-open-access-publishers/home?authuser=0&pli=1 LAI Library Publishing Group https://www.libraryassociation.ie/library-publishing-group/ We are also guided by the work of the National Open Research Forum (NORF) https://norf.ie/ Maynooth University has also developed a Rights Retention Statement.
Additional Information
Last Year:Continued support for all publications. The Library has produced a guide to our publishing services available at https://nuim.libguides.com/OpenPublishing We are planning to move all OJS journals to an externally hosted rather than locally hosted OJS platform. The Open Journal of Astrophysics is in the process of transferring to Maynooth University's crossref identifier for Maynooth Academic Publishing.
Future Plans:
We would like to further support campus colleagues in developing open access journal publications and investigate publication of open access monographs. The latter has been identified as a task under the Maynooth University Open Scholarship Strategy 2022-2025. We have also promoted the Irish Journal of Management https://sciendo.com/journal/IJM which is an open journal not directly supported by us but has Maynooth University editorial board membership.
