Program Overview
Mission/Objectives:We promote open science and open access, in addition to generation and use of information, in order to contribute to the development of society, the excellence of teaching, research, and cultural activities and publications in all areas of knowledge, including sustainable development goals (ODS). The objective is to disseminate academic and scientific digital books and journals published by the units, institutes, centers, and museums of the Universidade de São Paulo. The USP's Open Book Portal is based on scientific nature and must therefore comply with the submission criteria and evaluation process for certification of their scientific and academic character in line with the objectives of the University of São Paulo, in relation to quality control, selection, and editorial review, in addition to application to the area of knowledge of the university's units, institutes, museums, and specialized centers. These indicators and evaluation processes prove the scientific nature of the publications. The USP's Journals Portal is the digital library of journals published by teaching and research units, postgraduate programs, and research centers of professors and students of the Universidade de São Paulo and, in some cases, in official partnership with external institutions.

Additional Information
Last Year:In the past year, our library publishing services changed their focus to promote more inclusive policies of journal and e-books selection in order to congregate all monographs edited by faculties, institutes, centers, and museums of the Universidade de São Paulo. Besides, each year we publish an Edital to distribute financial funds to our journals.
Future Plans:
One of our new directions is the promotion of the publication of monographs about United Nations Sustainable Development Objectives with a financial support policy for producing digital books.
