Program Overview

Mission/Objectives:
The University of Massachusetts Amherst Libraries provide publishing services for open access journals, conference proceedings, monographs, educational resources, and other openly licensed materials produced by the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We publish on platforms open to all researchers, scholars, and readers in order to provide global, equitable, and transparent access to the innovative research and creative works produced by our campus community and affiliates.

    We provide DOIs for their open access books, have published supplemental materials to their books in our institutional repository, and jointly supported the publication of a subscription journal. They published the print journal while we published it online.

    Additional Information

    Last Year:
    We made the decision to migrate our institutional repository and journals from our current platform (Digital Commons) to two open-source platforms, DSpace and Janeway.
    Future Plans:
    After our migrations are complete, we intend to expand and formalize our publishing program and services.
