The publishing mission of Western Libraries is to work directly with faculty and students to achieve their academic publishing goals by providing tools for and expertise in disseminating original scholarly work, advocating for open access, and educating them about ethical and rigorous publishing processes and standards.

Highlighted Publication

Journal of Open Hardware

The Journal of Open Hardware is a peer reviewed open access publication for open hardware research and development. In May 2024, the journal migrated from Ubiquity Press to Western Libraries’ publishing services, allowing the journal to offer open access publishing at no cost to the author.
