The Steps
Step Zero – Creating a Preservation Inventory
The goal of the one pager is to have you think broadly about all the content created by your publishing unit, whether it is available for the public or only internal, and whether it is meant to be retained for the long term or is more ephemeral.
Step One – Understanding the Preservation Landscape
The goal of this one pager is to understand digital preservation broadly how it differs from backing things up.
Step Two – Starting a Preservation Policy for Your Publishing Program
The goal of this one pager is to provide guidance on creating a preservation policy or working to incorporate the publishing program more fully into your library’s existing policy.
Step Three – Scope
The goal of this one pager is to combine what you now know about digital preservation and to look back at your inventory to see what should be included in your digital preservation plan.
