The primary function(s) of the position must directly engage in the creation, dissemination, and/or curation of scholarly, creative, and/or educational works. Administrative positions that do not directly engage in these functions may be included if they include supervisory responsibility primarily for employees who are performing these functions.

Open Educational Resources Coordinator

The University of Oklahoma Libraries is one of the first research institutions in the nation to create a position devoted exclusively to the development, support and promotion of open educational resources (OERs).  The position of Open Educational Resources Coordinator, established in 2013, administers and supports a fully funded alternative textbook initiative designed to incentivize the adoption and/or creation of OERs in all disciplines.  In the 2015-2016 academic year, the fund is set to save students over $270,000 in textbook costs.  For more information, see http://guides.ou.edu/AlternativeTextbooks. 
The University of Oklahoma Libraries is currently recruiting a dynamic and innovative individual for the position of Open Educational Resources Coordinator.  The position works closely with teaching faculty and subject librarians, and currently supervises one graduate assistant; the position answers directly to the Associate Dean for Scholarly Resources & Services.  Successful applicants will hold an advanced degree in library/information science, instructional development, instructional design, or a related field, and should have experience in:  library and educational technologies, applications, and open digital scholarship; defining educational objectives and assessing learning outcomes; user-centered design and evaluation; and project management.  The ability to consult and collaborate with diverse individuals and groups, communicate effectively, establish effective working relationships, take initiative, and work creatively, will be essential for the successful candidate.
