LPC Blog

The Library Publishing Coalition Blog is used to share news and updates about the LPC and the Library Publishing Forum, to draw attention to items of interest to the community, and to publish informal commentaries by LPC members and friends.

The Library Publishing Coalition is excited to launch our new newsletter format! You may recall the old Quarterly Updates, which evolved into Updates (when we started sending them out less than quarterly), and then ceased entirely at the end of 2024. The Quarterly Updates were news round-ups, and they were a useful communications strategy in the early days. Over the last few years, though, we have been sending more news directly through our public news list, and we launched a biweekly news round-up on the member list, making the Updates somewhat redundant.

We still felt that there was a need for regularly scheduled communications, however, so we went back to the drawing board and came up with MOSAIC. Each issue will focus on a single topic, and will include both original writing and a round-up of relevant items from LPC’s enormous resource library. MOSAIC is intended to contextualize important issues, while connecting our wider community to resources that support excellent practice in library publishing.
